What Goes Into Phil and Bill's Ice Cream
Phil and Bill get cream and milk from a local Pennsylvania Dairy Processor where the cream has a high milkfat content. That means you get rich creamy ice cream instead of watered down grocery store ice cream. The milkfat content varies slightly by season, but is always the highest available. We get our dairy ingredients the day they are packaged and bring them straight to our workshop whole, fresh, and ready to be mixed.
Our Ice Cream uses pure egg yolks (pastuerized of course) and cane sugar.
Our flavors have organic components where available and practical. We use natural vanilla, fruit preserves, and attempt to cut out or reduce artificial flavors and colors whenever we can.
Our kitchen is under the supervision of the Vaad Harabonim of Pittsburgh and the Allegheny County Health Department. While we are a small operation, we use modern equipment made to NSF standards, to carefully prepare, blend and freeze your ice cream. We follow modern food safety guidelines to insure top quality and safety.
